While every community foster care group is motivated by the desire to save and rehome as many healthy pets as possible, doing so without proper policies and procedures in place can end in disaster. Members become overwhelmed and burn out, and complaints from unhappy adopters or the threat of legal action can quickly sink a well-meaning group.

A professionally run group, however, attracts both adopters and supporters and gives you the ability to save more pets. Having the basic documentation required, a good understanding of the relevant legislation and great record keeping are three things that will help your group succeed and grow.
